Labiaplasty Week 1: When Stitches Naturally Loosen or Dissolve

The patient is 7 days post-op from labiaplasty and is concerned that one of the front stitches may have come out. At this stage, some stitches can dissolve or loosen naturally, and minor separation is common during healing. While it’s unlikely that a new stitch would be placed, healing will continue, and the tissue may still close on its own over time. Monitoring the area for any changes is important as swelling subsides and recovery progresses.
