What fantastic experience at the Vu Center. From the second floor(Vu Center) to the first floor(Sunset Surgical), I had such a great experience with this place. I had a rough experience dancing with a high powered set of hedge trimmers. After turning my right index finger into cube steak, the ER let me bleed out for three hours and then stitched me up enough to "get me to a hand surgeon". The initial meeting and conversation with everyone was great. From the med tech, admin person, to Dr Vu herself, everything was a class act, and I felt extremely comfortable after nearly amputating my finger. I want to personally thank everyone I can remember (forgive me if I didn't remember your name). First off, Dr Vu is caring, funny, and matter of fact, and let's you know what has happened and what you are going to be looking at for surgery and therapy. She turned my mangled finger into a realistically working appendage again by fixing the bone, artery, Nerve and severed tendon. Dr. Chang performed my anesthesia. He was professional, confident and explained everything that was going happen with procedure. Then, he was also funny! He was there when I went into twilight land, and there when I woke up. They weren't done with everything yet, so him and I chatted about pop culture things until I could get out of the OR. Marianne (hope I spelled that right). She was the OR nurse and she brings humor to a stressful situation. She was funny, and has a lot of knowledge and knows how to put the patient at ease. Easily one of the best people I encountered. Her bedside manner is fantastic and made me feel at home, both on the phone and in the OR. Cosetta and Brianna were both great with my pre and post op surgery care. They were both attentive and empathetic to my situation, despite probably seeing hundreds of cases worse than mine. Thank you for all your pre and post Op work, you made me feel less scared of what was about to, and later did happen. I also want to thank my OR med technician Ron(I hope I got that right). He put me at ease and asked what kind of music would put me at ease. All I could think was Nine Inch Nails and Nekrogoblikon. I said, "NIN" in desperation, but realized that Dr Vu might not be a NIN fan. I then asked, what Dr Vu liked? He replied, "classic rock". I replied, " Let's make Dr Vu happy" and while I didn't hear it, I hope Dr Vu got her classic rock.(side note Nine Inch Nails is now considered classic rock by normative standards). Can't say enough about my experiences at The Vu Center. Keep being awesome everyone there.

I would NOT recommend this doctor to anyone even my worst enemy. Dr. Vu removed a cyst on my thumb and she did a good job. The problem is a year later the cyst was back so I made an appt. to have her evaluate what can be done. She looked at it and told me she can remove it again and we needed to setup the date of surgery. 2 months later no one in the office had called me, so I called her clinic. I left several messages and never got a return call. On the 3rd month Dr. Vu called me and said that her Anesthesiologist is not certified by my insurance to have the surgery in the office and that I will have to wait for an OR at the hospital. What a BS because later she told me that if I payed $450.00 out of pocket to her she can schedule surgery in 2 days. She's after making that $ and don't care about your welfare.

They removed my last review, so here we go again... Dr. Vu caters and cares more for the insurance companies and making that Green from them, than her Patients. Not much heart beating from her chest. I would NEVER recommend her to ANYONE !!! Her Oath to Patients does not Apply !!! Hmmm... She seems to have more negative reviews than positive, makes you wonder 🤔

I had some pain in my wrist and called Dr Vu who was referred to by Cedar Mill Providence. I made an appointment and told the receptionist it was for a cortisone shot. I also told the receptionist that I don't need prior authorization for a cortisone shot with my insurance and they should check on that. When I showed up for my appointment, Dr Vu insisted that I needed a pre authorization. I asked them why they hadn't checked with my insurance before my appointment for authorization and she gave me some nonsense reasoning. I told her that I had seen Dr Mah for my foot issues two weeks earlier and he injected a cortisone shot their office checked with my insurance for authorization and I didn't need one. Dr. Vu refused to give me the shot. The office called me a few weeks later to tell me that I didn't need authorization after all. I made an appointment to see her again. She injected a cortisone shot on the second visit. I received two bills from them months later. I wrote a letter to Dr Vu asking why I didn't get the cortisone shot in the first visit and I think they should waive the charges for one visit copay since they did not check with my insurance for authorization before my first appointment. Peter the office manager called me to tell me all the nonsense reasons why they had to get authorization. I truly believe that Dr Vu is after the money and has forgotten about the code of ethics and the Hippocratic oath that she took to take care of their patients. I have filed a complaint with my insurance United Health Care and will write a letter to the board of Medicine in Oregon in regards to this situation. This is the most unethical clinic that I visited in my life. Please do not waste your time and money to see this clinic. I should have looked at reviews for this clinic before ever making an appointment. I am looking into other avenues to stop this kind of practice from a dishonest clinic.

Dr. Vu butchered my husband's hand. He got a large splinter in his hand. He could have removed it himself, but he opted to go to a doctor to be on the safe side. After examining him, she scheduled for him to come back the following week. Note: if she had just removed the splinter at that first visit, he would be ok today. By the next week, his hand had swelled to the extent that the splinter could not be seen. She offered general anesthesia, which he declined; he just wanted local anesthesia. She proceeded to make at least six long cuts in his hand looking for that splinter...which she never found. His hand was in horrible shape at the end. To add insult to injury, she billed him for general anesthesia and refused to reverse the charges, because he'd been treated in the general anesthesia room (her choice because she said it was the only room open.) After $4,500 in charges, his hand was in far worse shape, developed in nasty infection (that he went to another doctor to treat since he'd never return to her again), and he still has the splinter in his hand years later.
