I cannot say enough amazing things about Dr. Mesbahi and the life-changing experience I’ve had under his care. From my very first consultation, I felt heard, respected, and genuinely cared for. I recently underwent both upper and lower blepharoplasty as well as a breast reduction, and the results have far exceeded my expectations. Dr. Mesbahi is not only an incredibly skilled surgeon but also a compassionate professional who takes the time to ensure you feel comfortable and informed every step of the way. The procedures were thoroughly explained, and I always felt like I was in the best hands. Recovery was smoother than I anticipated, and I credit that to Dr. Mesbahi’s meticulous technique and attention to detail. The blepharoplasty has completely refreshed my appearance—my eyes look brighter and more youthful, and I feel so much more confident. The breast reduction was equally transformative. I no longer experience the back and shoulder pain that plagued me for years, and I finally feel balanced and comfortable in my own body. I got my breast implants replaced with Dr. Mesbahi and all I can say is how surprised and amazed I am with how easy my recovery was! Subtle soreness for max 5 days! After that I forgot I even had surgery! The way they already look which shouldn’t be that great bc of swelling already looks perfect! So I can only imagine what the final results are going to be! He has light magic hands! Beyond pleased!

I am unbelievably frustrated. I have expressed to ALL of my providers that I did not want radiation to treat breast cancer. There is no confusion about this, as it has been documented in multiple charts. As I was waking up from anesthesia after my surgery, my husband was told a larger breast implant was placed *for radiation* (this reasoning could have been "to replace tissue lost" which you'll see in a moment, and this could have all been avoided). I was clearly upset, as I had felt my desires had been ignored and essentially invalidated. I had been seen maybe one or two times post op by the NP, and I expressed my upset. No answers were available then (no blame on her, if no one writes anything in the chart, she wasn't in surgery and I don't expect her to know when communication is obviously lacking). I expressed my upset in my reviews across multiple platforms. I was simply told to remove my "slanderous" review of Dr. Mesbahi in an email by the practice administrator. No one bothered to directly address my concerns about what happened during surgery at all. No phone calls, no emails. Why had this been done, after I CLEARLY said I did not want to go the radiation route? I had surgery March 19th, and finally the PA told me what happened 3 weeks out at today's post op visit. The amount of tissue removed by the surgery was "decent" and the slightly larger implant was meant to balance out the amount of tissue lost. The breast surgeon (another doctor) also advised Mesbahi to put in the larger implant during surgery, so my anger was misdirected. Maybe Dr. Mesbahi was on vacation after my surgery ? I don't know - but what, no one could put a note in the chart with an explanation as to why an outcome was not expected post operatively? Why could no one follow up on this from my first visit?? No note on the chart "Hey this patient is very upset, why was this done, will call asap w/ response"? I get people are busy at a practice but I was left to feel disregarded for 3 weeks. I'm not a disagreeable person, I'm not out to be angry, I just want to have things explained to me that are done to my body, and not to be left to my own thoughts about what transpired. I don't think this is unreasonable. I guarantee if I had not complained, no one would have bothered to tell me. The practice admin couldn't send me an email with this explanation instead of further invalidating my experience by telling me to just remove my reviews? She couldn't have looked into it more before addressing me by email? "Hey I found out why and I'd like to alleviate your concerns, can I call you (or have the nurse call if she was busy) or can I respond why electronically?". Thank you to Gretchen, the PA there who was kind enough to explain why this was done today rather than letting it go for longer than it did. She is very sweet. Besides her & the NP, this whole experience has been exhausting, like pulling teeth for information and I get anxiety every time I drive to that office.

If you have breast cancer and need a caring team that will give you amazing results look no further ! They are the best. I am happier now with my body than before my breast cancer.

I had a delayed Diep Flap breast reconstruction with Dr. Mesbahi nearly 3 years after having a mastectomy, chemo, radiation and - most importantly for this post - implant reconstruction under the care of another doctor. I was very unhappy with my previous result and with the plastic surgeon. The implant and sutures were too tight, immobile, and very uncomfortable. I had restricted arm movement. I went to several surgeons for opinions on this second surgery and one indicated he thought it was such a mess he was reluctant to address the arm movement issue. Dr. Mesbahi was undaunted and offered me the best outlook for improvement. He and his team delivered. My reconstructed breast is much more natural looking, properly sized and it has natural movement. Even my oncologist was impressed. Dr. Mesbahi also cleared out some of my scar tissue giving me back some range of motion in my arm. Dr. Mesbahi and his team and all the folks at Fairfax hospital were incredibly kind and caring. It was a really good experience as far as hospital stays go. As promised, the surgery took 2 hours less than what other surgeons offered and my recovery was much quicker than I expected. I feel very lucky to have been directed to Dr. Mesbahi and would recommend him and the team to anyone needing mastectomy or reconstructive treatment. I wish I’d come here first 3 years ago but I am really happy with what Dr. Mesbahi was do for me.
