I thought I had a great Dr. at first, then he left me very very unhappy when it came to revisions. He wouldn’t take responsibility for things he cause that made me very unhappy. Basically said it was normal. So unhappy. The Communication was awful. I was told one thing at the consult and when I woke up from surgery something completely different happened. I would call the office to explain something was not right and his assistant would tell me he would not talk to me until 3 months. I was told I was going to be cut like an anchor and woke up with a half moon incision. I really don’t even know how a proper mastectomy was preformed. I called for a different reason and asked to speak to Dr. Au and he was on vacation. So the lady gave me his email and I told her to please have him call me when he gets back. Nothing, no call back, now it’s surgery day and I tell him what I wanted to say and now I am getting yelled at before surgery. It was bazar. No one should have to go through that. I am so so unhappy and the things I am unhappy about could have been corrected he chose not do the revisions.

I had a full understanding of my breast cancer care, including surgery, reconstruction, risk and benefits. I had no doubts about your care and my recovery. Highly recommend. Incredibly talented team of professionals that really care about the patient. I know it’s different for everyone but I prefer my reconstructed breasts to what I had before my mastectomy. Bottom line is they will do whatever they can to get you as close to your desired results as possible.

Dr. Au is the best at what he does. I had a bilateral mastectomy with immediate DIEP flap reconstruction about 3 years ago. During a time when I was overwhelmed with so many decisions about my treatments for Stage 3 breast cancer, I 'added' him to my cancer care team & I couldn't be more confident or happier with that decision. His bedside manner & experience is top notch!
