It's been a little over a month since I had my rhinoplasty and otoplasty with Dr. Rahban, and I wanted to share my experience. After considering surgery for almost a decade, I decided in December that I was finally going to move forward with it. I expected to go through a long journey of consultations. After weeks of researching, I decided to start off with 2 doctors, Dr. Rahban being the first. I scheduled my consultation with him for mid-January. He went into detail about everything and was super knowledgeable when I asked questions. He spoke with confidence and therefore I felt confident in his ability to help me out. Everything went really well, but I still needed to meet with the second doctor to make sure. I quickly noticed the other doctor was the complete opposite of Dr. Rahban. He sounded unsure of what he could do for me, and at one point even told me that if I was looking for improvement he could help me out, but that I might also end up needing nose fillers for the dent on top of my nose 🚩. This doctor's approach was more "one-size-fits-all" and lucky for me it did not work for me because I ended up with Dr. Rahban. Dr. Rahban actually took the time to look at my nose in detail and confidently told me he would be able to improve my nose without ever bringing up the need for nose fillers. I scheduled my surgery soon after because I decided I did not need to meet with anyone else—Dr. Rahban was it. When I had my surgery at the end of March I was surprisingly really calm. A lot of it had to do with the fact that my interactions with the doctors and the staff were so great, even prior to surgery day. Everyone I spoke to was incredibly kind and helpful, and I knew I was in good hands. Before I knew it, it was all over. I feel it's important to say this—it's not glamorous, it's surgery. I know how excited one can feel to get to the other side, but you have to take care of yourself first. You will have to plan for some down time and may experience a bit of discomfort. So long as you take your prescriptions, eat, stay hydrated, and follow the doctor's instructions you will be fine. I will say to my surprise my ears were a bit more tender than my nose. If you're planning for an ear surgery, I highly recommend purchasing a wedge pillow for post-op to help you sleep more comfortably as you will not be able to do so flat on your back let alone on your sides with incisions behind your ears. If you're just doing your nose, you may be able to get away with stacking pillows to sleep at an angle (since you also can't sleep flat on your back) but I also recommend you feel this out for yourself prior to surgery so you can ease into your recovery as soon as you get home. Fast forward to today in May, I just had my 3rd post-op appointment and I could not be more happy with the results. I love my ears and my nose and I feel so much more confident ✨. I'm already living my life as I was pre-op, and I'm so grateful and thankful for Dr. Rahban and his amazing team; Tiffany, Leti, Paula, Sally, Dr. Houston—I know I'm forgetting so many amazing staff members here but just know that I also appreciate you! I’m a 71-year-old woman who has had two sets of breast implants spanning 30 years, first silicone, then saline. Over the years, I noticed changes in the look and feel of my breasts due to a capsular contracture. One was higher than the other and they felt harder. I was also not feeling my best as it was possible bacterial biofilm had grown over the implants, causing symptoms of fatigue and digestive issues. After hearing how a lot of women were removing their implants, I felt it was the way to go to protect my health. I was set on that course when a friend suggested I see his surgeon, Dr. Radi Rahban for another opinion. Dr. Rahban has extensive experience in various forms of plastic surgery and has performed thousands of breast implant procedures. I knew that after 30 years of breast implants, removing them would cause my breasts to look deflated. I was depressed just thinking about this because it’s hard enough to grow older in a society that worships youth. I’d also heard about fat transfer for breast augmentation, but the results I saw in pictures were not as aesthetically pleasing to me. He also has a unique way of determining what size and shape I ideally want. I can honestly say I’m very happy with my decision to have Dr. Rahban replace them. He removed every bit of scar tissue, unlike my past surgeon. The scars in the breast folds are almost gone and will be gone within a few months. And I’m thrilled with the look, shape and feel of my now beautiful smaller, soft, natural looking breasts with no capsular contracture. But here’s the best part. The biofilm is out. I feel fantastic. My energy has returned. I even unexpectedly lost those last five pounds I could never lose for years. I think my body was holding on to extra weight due to the inflammation caused by the biofilm.
